Finca Santa Lucia is located in Tres Pinos, nestled within the Montaña de La Choca national reserve. Owned by third-generation coffee producer Raul Rodriguez, the farm has a legacy of innovation passed down from his father, Don Ermenegildo Rodriguez. A pioneer in specialty coffee, Don Ermenegildo introduced varietals like Yellow Bourbon, Typica, and Caturra to the region.
The farm’s high elevation, rich clay soil, and abundant sunlight ensure each bean’s quality and flavor. Raul’s dedication extends beyond coffee; he pays the highest wages in the area and plans to donate part of his profits to rebuild the local school. His certified organic farm, Santa Lucia Reserve, is also a habitat for various birds, including his favorite, the Toucan.
Relationship with the De La Finca Family:
Raul Rodriguez is the grandfather of De La Finca founder Nelson Amador, making him a central figure in the family’s tradition of producing socially conscious, high-quality coffee.
